The purpose of this manuscript is to exhibit the research work solving the issue of data processing stem from defect localization techniques. This step being decisive in the failure analysis process, scientists have to harness data coming from light emission and laser techniques. Nevertheless, this analysis process is sequential and only depends on the expert’s decision. This factor leads to a not quantified probability of localization. Consequently to solve these issues, a multimodaland multicriteria analysis has been developped, taking advantage of the heterogeneous and complementary nature of light emission and laser probing techniques. Plant (crop and weed) identification is a very active field of research in agriculture since the reinforcement of European laws about pesticide applications for a site-specific management of spraying practices. A new crop/weed simulation model was developed to allow the evaluation of crop/weed spatial identification methods from imaging. Considering multiples agronomic parameters – crop location, weed infestation rate, weed spatial distribution – the first step of this model allows the simulation of an infested crop field. To date, computer vision systems are limited to extract digital data of what the cameras "see". Tomographic image processing for the morphological and metrological study of Valsalva sinuses

This Phd thesis deals with the design and the use of image processing tools in order to allow a reliable and objective study of the sinuses of Valsalva which are important cavities of the aortic root. The proposed methods can be applied on cine-MR sequences and CT examinations without any change in the settings between two examinations.Firstly, we studied the morphology of this anatomical area and its constant properties in all images of the dataset. Fast prototyping of parallel image processing applications using functional skeletons

We present SKiPPER, a software dedicated to the fast prototyping of vision algorithms on MIMD/DM platforms. This software is based upon the concept of algorithmic skeletons, i.e. higher order program constructs encapsulating recurring forms of parallel computations and hiding their low-level implementation details. Examples of such skeletons in low- to mid-level image processing include such as geometric decompositions, data or task farming.
